Modifying the Sparky Toy (ThinkWay Version) with Light-Up and Sound Effects
The character Sparky appears in Toy Story 3 as a robot henchman working under Lotso at Sunnyside Daycare. Among commercially available 1:1 scale replicas, the version produced by ThinkWay Toys boasts the most accurate appearance. However, its original design only features a chest light, lacking the eye illumination and voice capabilities seen in the film.
Therefore, I modified this toy. Specifically, I added six LED bulbs to the eye area to replicate the exact effect from the movie. Simultaneously, I integrated a sound chip, a power supply circuit, a speaker, and all other necessary components to create a complete functional system.
The final result is impressive. By pressing the head or chest, the eyes and body now light up while Sparky speaks his original movie lines, recreating the authentic robot sound effects.
